This are sunflower seeds (simitski) Ukrainians favorite to munch. It's like the "butong pakwan" (dried watermelon seeds) of Filipinos.
Ukrainians always have sunflowers with them, especially when they know they have to wait somewhere, or walking around the park or watching films. You can buy anywhere on the streets or markets. Usually "babushka" (grandmother) sells them.
I did try it, it taste good, and once you get started, you don't want to stop anymore!:)
