Ukrainian Garages
These are garages in Ukraine. Most of the residents has one. This is where they put all their stuff that they don't use or for storage.
Ukrainians also uses this to keep their car (those that has one). Specially during winter time.
Ukrainian Dom (House)
Most of the houses in Ukrainian are not in the center of Donetsk. They are more like in the outskirst of the center.
This one is not far from the center. The place was used to be one of the mining places but been closed for years.
Most of the people that lives in the houses in this area used to work in the mining company.
Donetsk is one of the industrial cities of Ukraine and there are still many mining company that are still working.
Ukrainian House
A typical Ukrainian house. Saw this one on the way to visit a Ukrainian family and friend.
Most of the traditional Ukrainian houses are small and have fences around, like this one.
Great Time Together
This two are having a great time together. Although when a toddler get into playing mode, you have to be ready as he/she will not stop until your energy is zapped!:)
Being with a toddler is fun and can also make you really tired after being with them for hours!:)
Lovely Toddler
A toddler is always fun to have around. They can play and talk (even if not that clear or straight yet), they make a good and fun company.
I like being in the toddler's class when I was still teaching in Sunday school. I enjoy each toddler that comes. And I enjoy watching them grow during their time in my class.
Once they are past their toddler years, they can be a handful!:)
Friends Forever
When a child taken on someone, they are friends for life!:) The child trust that person with everything.
It is nice to have the attributes of a child when it comes to trust. They trust without reservation to someone that shows love and care for them.

Play Time
It's always fun to be around a child. Nothing is more than satisfying and invigorating than playing and being with a child!
Children are tireless when it comes to playing. They can play for hours if you let them!:)
A Child's World
A child's world is about playing and being happy. Something that not all the children have.
Sad to say but a fact is that, there are lots of children all over the world that lives a life with nothing. Some has new clothes and toys but there are many of them that even their meal (at least one meal in a day) is not certain.
Sometimes, we thought that it is easy to be a child. But again, with what's happening around the world, really, depends on what kind of life a child has to say that it is easy to be a child.
Friendship
Making friends with these young men and women is a big thing for Ukrainian young people.
Talking with them and knowing what they think and views of their lives in Ukraine and the government is interesting.
Giving them hope and to keep their goals and dreams is something that will help them to look forward of their future.
Hope of Ukraine
This is one of the young men that goes to one of the institute here in Donetsk, Ukraine.
When you talk with these young people you will know how hopeless they feel with their country. They have ambitions and dreams.
They wanted to do something more in their lives but their dreams seems dim to them as they look around them and their government situation.
Park
The park is one of the places that most of the newly wed goes to and walk around after they registered as new couple.

Newly Wed at the Park
The newly wed goes around the park and do what they want to do, may it be just walking or playing with the swing.
While the photographer/video are following them around and taking photos/video.
Walking at the Park
One of traditions of Ukrainians in wedding is for the newly wed to walk around the town or center. Taking photos or video wherever they want to go.
This is another way of letting people know that they just got married. The newly wed spend 3 hours walking around the center or town before they go to the wedding reception, where their guests are waiting.
Park
People enjoying the park during summer time. Children and adults alike enjoys the water fountains in the park.
Summer
Summer is the time to enjoy outside and the park. Most people are in the park during summer time. Young and old alike are having a good time being in the park.
Wedding Band or Ring
The wedding ring represents the trust that the couple have for each other. This ring binds them together to that trust.
A circle of trust, a ring represents that the trust should be never ending. As the love that a couple has for each other, never ending.
Ideally, the ring should represent a lifetime trust, love or commitment to each other.
The Candles
The two small candle represents the couple as individuals. The big candle in the middle when lighted by the couple represents as "Unity Candle."
A two person gets united and became ONE.
Unity Candle
The lighting of unity candle. Lighting the one big candle from their candle.
This symbolizes of the couple from being two person to unite and be ONE by lighting the one big candle from their own candle.
It means that, now they are not two person but one person. As a couple get married they become ONE.
Eating of Bread with Salt
One of the Ukrainian traditions in wedding, the newly wed will eat this Ukrainian traditional bread with salt.
Here the newly wed are looking on the traditional bread with salt on top (on a green leaf). They get a small piece of the bread, dip it on the salt and eat it.
The bread and salt symbolizes (as their tradition) that the newly wed will always have bread and salt for their food on the table.
Throwing of Confetti
Throwing of confetti, candies, coins (whatever they use as confetti). It does hurt though when hit by those candies or coins! Wish people will just use petals of flowers as confetti, that way it's not painful!
Ukrainian Pickled Veggies
Ukrainian is good and love to make pickled veggies. This is one of the many vegetables that they pickled. They are tasty and really good. I like their pickled vegetables.
This one are pickled tomatoes, mushrooms (two kinds) and young cucumber.
Ukrainian Dish
This is another Ukrainian dish (fish). It's fish that was rolled on flour (i think) and fried. I did try it, it's tasty.

Curious Toddler
Diana, found this pine tree and went to investigate. She is fascinated with the bark of this tree. She actually tried to peel them off with her little hands:)
Summer Time
Every summer this place is packed with people. The river is cool and cleaner. People swim the whole day until they are burned from the sun.
Donetsk River
This river is nicer and cleaner than the others that I've seen so far in Donetsk, I guess that's why there are lots of people in this place during summer.
Pine Trees
The other side of the river where we had the picnic last summer is full of Pine Trees...we supposed to have the picnic on that side but we didn't find the road.
golden autumn leaves
beautiful golden autumn leaves!:) autumn is one of my favorites season of the year...besides the weather is nice and cool, the trees turned into colorful and beautiful!:)
